Following the roll out of Google’s Penguin update in early 2012, SEOs have been careful about ‘over-optimising’ their link building strategies. Where in the past, putting keywords into anchor text was the holy grail of SEO, it is now a much more sensitive subject. Lots of keyword anchor texts could find you landed with a nasty penalty; so should we plan exactly what keywords we use and how many? Or should we make our anchors totally random?
