Twitter Displays Images; It Causes a Stir…

The minor changes of the digital giants that we utilise on a day to day basis can always cause a stir. The mediums and the interfaces that we get so used to using every day, when changed, cause a wave of response that receives both positive and negative reviews. Twitter’s latest change coincides with Twitter’s trial flotation on the New York Stock Exchange. There is a solid claim too that this is not a coincidence…

Twitter now displays images directly in your Twitter feed as opposed to having to click a link that would take you to an external site, to view said images. This immediately evokes two responses (for myself anyway). The first is that I have already had to stop following a number of Twits, @bbccomedy being one, for abusing the new system and clogging up my feed with too many images to consume. The second though, and quite possibly more important response, is that I do really like the new feed. The ability to see images certainly brings a new dimension to the platform and it will be interesting to see how businesses and celebs utilise the new feed to their advantage.

One thing is for sure though, if Storm Jude had hit the UK a week later, then this tweet certainly wouldn’t have be as funny… (not quite the same being able to see the picture punchline without clicking on the link)
